Structured cabling

Cabling that outlasts everything connected to it.

The cabling infrastructure outlives several generations of the equipment connected to it. We design, install, test and certify copper and fibre so the physical layer is never the open question.

Where it fits
  • New buildings and fit-outs
  • Live office and clinical environments
  • Industrial and warehouse buildings
  • Comms rooms and data centres
  • Multi-building campuses
Fibre optic cables terminated into a splice tray
Structured cabling

Our scope

What we do on these systems.

  1. 01Survey routes, risers, containment and comms rooms before the design is committed
  2. 02Design cabling architectures (copper, fibre and containment) against the relevant British and European standards
  3. 03Specify cable classes, fibre types and containment sized for current load with recorded spare capacity
  4. 04Coordinate installation with other trades so routes, segregation distances and fire-stopping are maintained
  5. 05Test every link with calibrated instruments and certify results against the installed class
  6. 06Hand over labelled, as-built records so every outlet can be traced to a patch panel without lifting a floor tile

Platform

What the system does.

  • Copper links tested and certified to the installed class, with results retained
  • Singlemode and multimode fibre backbones with loss budgets calculated at design and verified at test
  • Containment sized with spare capacity and segregation from power maintained throughout
  • Consistent labelling across outlets, panels and cabinets
  • Fire-stopping reinstated and recorded at every penetration
  • Comms room layouts with managed cable routes, power and airflow
  • Capacity for future services recorded at design, so growth does not mean recabling
  • Test results and as-built drawings handed over in a form the next contractor can use
