What we do on these systems.
- 01Interpret HTM 08-03 against the trust's own requirements: the memorandum is guidance from 2013, and most trusts specify beyond it
- 02Write specifications that reference the guidance section by section, so compliance can be checked rather than asserted
- 03Apply BS 8300 to accessible WC assistance alarms: red pull cords, reachable from floor level, resetting only at the point of call
- 04Map the platform's certified capabilities onto each HTM 08-03 section during design, without asserting equivalence between UK guidance and the German certification
- 05Produce the acceptance test plan and commissioning evidence that demonstrates the installed system against the specification
- 06Advise where care home and supported-living schemes should not lean on HTM 08-03: it is hospital bedhead guidance, and social-care procurement runs on different requirements

What the system does.
EZ CALL IP is manufactured by Schrack Seconet. Product names and specifications are theirs.
- HTM 08-03 is the NHS health technical memorandum covering bedhead services, including patient-to-nurse calls, emergency staff-to-staff calls, calling devices, handsets, speech systems and nurse presence
- The manufacturer states EZ CALL IP is designed to satisfy HTM 08-03 and DIN VDE 0834 together, with VDE 0834 the stricter of the two on system integrity
- VDE 0834 (the platform's certification, tested by an independent accredited centre) requires calls and staff presence to survive a mains failure for at least 30 seconds in system memory
- Segmented architecture keeps a fault contained: each segment operates independently, down to single-room granularity
- An independent emergency call path continues signalling if data communication fails (relevant to the availability expectations behind both frameworks)
- BS 8300 governs accessible WC assistance alarms, routinely required alongside nurse call on UK healthcare projects
- Device supervision to the individual call button supports the evidencing that UK commissioning expects
