Design and planning

The design work that decides whether it works.

Most nurse call problems are set before installation begins: in zoning, call routing, cable strategy and the interfaces nobody owned. This is the stage where they get resolved.

Where it fits
  • New-build healthcare projects
  • Live-ward refurbishment and phased migration
  • Estate-wide standardisation across multiple sites
Designed against

HTM 08-03 · BS EN 50173-1 structured cabling

Our scope

What we do on these systems.

  1. 01Room data sheets and device schedules, with call points confirmed against room use rather than a repeated template
  2. 02Cable strategy for phased work: what existing two-wire nurse call cable can be retained, and where IP is run
  3. 03Zoning, call group and escalation design agreed with the ward before it is built
  4. 04Interface schedule naming every boundary with fire, security, medical devices, DECT and paging, and who owns each
  5. 05Specification and tender documentation support, including drawings and typical specification text
  6. 06Acceptance test plans, commissioning records, O&M documentation and a system logbook at handover

Platform

What the system does.

EZ DESIGN is manufactured by Schrack Seconet. Product names and specifications are theirs.

  • Manufacturer planning tools, connection diagrams and typical specification text
  • BIM objects and AutoCAD libraries for coordination with the wider design team
  • Mixed legacy-bus and IP topologies planned in one system, so migration can be phased
  • Segment design that keeps a fault contained rather than taking a ward offline
  • Documented handover pack and logbook aligned to UK O&M expectations

Documentation

Documents open on the manufacturer’s site so you always get the current revision.
