What makes technology on a mineral site different in the UAE
A mineral site has no fixed geometry. Quarrying in the northern emirates supplies aggregate at volume, and the working face advances while haul roads are re-routed as the extraction sequence proceeds, so radio line of sight and cable routes valid at survey can be invalid a season later. Blast exclusion zones and the operator's traffic rules set when a fixed device can be installed or reached for maintenance, which makes maintenance access a design constraint rather than a service consideration. Dust and heat set the environmental rating before any network requirement is considered.
Instrumentation on a mineral site often produces evidence rather than telemetry. Quarry licences are issued at emirate level and commonly carry environmental monitoring conditions, so noise and dust readings have to remain intact and attributable for as long as the condition applies, which is a data integrity requirement rather than a reporting convenience. A weighbridge used to determine quantity for trade falls within the national legal metrology regime overseen by the Ministry of Industry and Advanced Technology, so changes to the parts of the system producing the weight result are not ordinary IT changes.
