What makes education technology different in the UAE
Campus density is the design problem. Lecture theatres, libraries and examination halls concentrate hundreds of devices into small areas at predictable times, so wireless is designed to a client density and a capacity figure rather than to a coverage map. The sector here is heavily private and international, so a single operator can run schools on several curricula across more than one emirate, and standardising the estate has to survive the fact that each site answers to a different regulator and inspection cycle.
Oversight is emirate level. KHDA in Dubai and ADEK in Abu Dhabi license and inspect institutions in their jurisdictions alongside the Ministry of Education, and inspection frameworks reach into how technology is used and safeguarded rather than only whether it exists. Student personal data falls under the applicable data protection regime for the entity, and decisions about filtering, monitoring, device management and retention belong to a named role holder at the institution rather than to a supplier default. Work is scheduled around teaching, so cutover windows follow the academic calendar rather than the delivery plan.
