A distribution building is a difficult radio environment, and it does not stay the same. Attenuation from racking and stock means a survey of an empty warehouse does not describe the site once it is full. A fixed channel plan is no safer, because licence-exempt use of parts of the 5 GHz band is conditional on dynamic frequency selection, so an access point detecting radar must leave the channel. Handheld terminals roam constantly, so handover time matters more to a scanning operation than average throughput.

Customs status is a system requirement, not a commercial detail. Goods held in a free zone are in a different customs position from goods on the mainland, so a warehouse management system has to record and preserve that distinction, and movement between the two generates declarations that the system is expected to raise and reconcile through the emirate's trade platform. Getting that boundary wrong surfaces as a customs problem rather than a software one. Automated handling equipment brings duties sitting outside the network entirely: cabling inside a running sorter is a plant operation governed by isolation, not a cabling task.
